Be intentional with the Word and your walk with the Lord

The devil specializes in confusion and distraction. If we haven’t recognized that yet, it is that the Devil already has a hold of you.

God is intentional in His actions. He thoughtfully created the world in systematic order. He wonderfully created man in His own image. Man is made to walk with the Lord. It requires intentionality on our part to follow Him.

Sin does not grow in a fertile spiritual life. But just as weeds grow even in unattended and dry conditions, sin takes root when our lives are careless and complacent.

The most important way to have a flourishing and fruitful life is to abide in the word of God. God’s Word is a matchless, intentional, and loving communication of the Creator to His children.

  • How much of your daily life has an intentional time in the Word?
  • Do you approach the Word as a chore to tackle or as the most important thing to survive?
  • Is your time in the Word delightful?

One way you might want to go is use a Bible Reading Plan. Perhaps if you are married, do it with your wife. If you have kids, make it a Family Reading Plan. There are so many plans available. One that I am starting this year as a family is a plan by the Bible Project. This plan has a daily devotional content, more than 150 animated videos to bring biblical books and themes to life, and reflection questions. I invite you to join me. Use the link below to use the plan I am following.

Whatever you do, be intentional in the walk with the Lord and your time in the Scripture. May you be blessed!
