The most repeated phrase in the last chapter of Revelation – I am coming quickly

Three times in the last chapter of Revelation it says “I am coming quickly.” It is an apt repetition in this great book of ‘Unveiling’. The word “quickly” indicates swiftness and surprise.

It is the last words of the Lord Jesus recorded in the Bible.

The Lord wants us to be prepared and earnestly waiting for His coming. After all the marvelous things He has done to redeem and the preparations He is doing for the redeemed, how could we not be waiting after Him?

The Messages to the Seven Churches of Revelation: Their Meaning and Their Application to Our Lives

When we focus on the Lord’s coming, it helps us stay faithful to Him. We won’t worry about unnecessary things, as long as we hold on to His promise, “I am coming soon.” Seeking Him will lessen the troubles in the world. Instead of feeling distracted and discouraged, we will feel alive and joyful. Considering the limited time we have to obey Him, how can you prepare yourself for the Lord’s coming? He said that where your treasure is, there your heart will be. Looking forward to the Lord’s coming will guide us to build eternal treasures.

Why wouldn’t we be thrilled about His arrival?

Is it forgetfulness? Or is it indifference? Are we more enthused about beautiful weather, stress-free work days, time off work, delightful meals, summer vacations, or worldly possessions that will eventually fade away?

Meditate upon the beautiful thought of seeing the Lord face to face. Could He see you as faithful on that day?
