They say all great stories follow a common narrative path. It goes somewhat like this. First, the character plunged in deeper trouble. And toward the end of the storyline, the protagonist surprisingly emerges victorious from the problem. Everyone enjoys such a narrative, and it is the secret of a bestseller book or a blockbuster movie.
Each one of those living in the world is crafting their own life story.
What is your story like?
The greatest book which was ever written, the Bible follows the above storyline. It says everyone in this world is in deeper trouble called sin. But it narrates a pathway for redemption through repentance from man’s hopelessness. This way to salvation is completely based on the unconditional love of God.
It doesn’t matter who you are and what have you done. You can completely change your life for good. Your story can be of change, redemption, and ultimate transformation. It is a life made possible by repenting from sins. And this is the life where Christ working in you every day to renew. Finally, this is the story of living joyfully in the presence of the Lord eternally.
Or your story can be of tragedy and perpetual sorrow. It is the story where you never come out from the sin because of not repenting. It is the story of a life born in sin and unredeemed from its power. A story of no valuable transformation. It is the story where whatever you do to get away from a life of sin makes you go into deep despair. It is the tragic life without Christ, ultimately leading to the never-ending pain and sorrow of hell.
Here is a small section from the ending part of the Bible. Read through it and see where your life is leading to.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." (Rev. 21:1-8 ESV)
Is your life with Christ or without Him? If Jesus Christ is not in your life as Redeemer, no other thing or person can save you from the trouble of sin.
Today, at this very moment, you have the right choice to make that can dramatically change your story for all good. That is to repent of your sins. That choice you can make is to invite Lord Jesus Christ to your life to redeem and transform.
